Concern over shortage of judges

JOHANNESBURG -Judges Matter has added its voice to concerns about delays in South Africa’s courts.
The Judge President for the Gauteng Division of the High Court spoke about delays in the Pretoria High Court.
The earliest available trial dates in the Johannesburg High Court are in October 2029.
This means that pressing matters will only go to trial in five years.
Judges Matter is a UCT project that monitors judicial appointments.
